French Oak Lumber
Our French Oak – not to be confused with Domestic Red or White Oak, comes from responsibly managed forests in France and Eastern Europe. The boards are produced from mixed straight sawn, rift and quarter-sawn lumber. The lumber is first naturally air aged outside for a period of 3 to 5 years, than slow kiln dried for 4 to 6 weeks for added stability. No chemicals or stains are used in this process.
Next, the lumber is selected for character marks that include closed and open knots, natural splits, and color variations. Our floors are manufactured from Character lumber, named by our company as “Vintage” grade.
Our Vintage French Oak wide plank flooring has the blend of old-world character and country elegance, making it the connoisseur’s choice for flooring. It conveys a bit of timeworn sophistication that will give an old world European flair and a French decor feel to your home.
An integral part of the French Country design is a French Oak floor, boasting an effortless grace to all who view it. The hallmark of the French Province style may be best described as graceful with a country patina.
French Country decorating often incorporates the relaxed warmth and comfort of the American country decor, and places a touch of elegance into the mix. It is a style that features both taste and character.
French Oak is a great favourite chosen for its durability, beauty, and practicality. It is the oldest and most versatile flooring material; much prized for its beautiful warm colour, fine, uniform texture, and tight, straight grain.
These well-known qualities are ideal for new developments, commercial/retail units, and private residences.
French Oak flooring is a natural product. Each tree, each board, is unique. It has its own individual character, which is after all, the attraction of real wood, and therefore, will never date.
Over the years your French Oak floors will mature and the colour will deepen, increasing richness and depth.
We are sure you will find our products will help to compliment and enhance the character and warmth of your home.
